after she drove off to seattle, before he came back from the caves

Sometimes the world comes

to our doorstep. Sometimes

it goes away.  We aren't big

on saying good-bye,

but we love

how you always

come home.

  1. Very simple and sweet. I love the poise of those dogs. I can see the tonic anticipation in their bodies.

  2. This picture sure speaks to me...they just never know why they can't come everywhere with us because when we do take them its fun...Also a comment for the previous post..'what do we need to know for sure'...when I was going through some confused times I always felt comforted by the thought of my husband and home and knowing that thats all that really mattered.

  3. kass-

yeah! tonic anticipation is a great phrase. there is so much acceptance and faith in their stance. one kid leaves, they don't know when the next one will show up, but they stand at the door and watch.

    kerry-

what comforting comments. these pups never complain if they don't get to go out that door, but the dutch shepherd does love to show me the closet door which is behind the red door in the photo. there are leashes in that closet door and charlie/charles sweet talks me to get those leashes out.

what do we need to know for sure: it seems to me your husband and dog are fortunate to be included in your answer. how very cool.
