We are hitting the road and headed somewhere above the timberline. This is a photo from the last trip- taken in August. Skiers who want to say they skiied every month of the year come here. What they ski down, they hike back up. We'll be there to watch.
See the dot of black 1/3 from the top of the snowfield? That is a skier.
I'm packing a camera, a journal, my favorite black pen. A winter coat and summer shorts, my favorite hiking shoes. Laptop and Blackberry are coming, too -- but when you don't hear from me you'll know the reason why. There are no towers here.
Plucky skiier.
ReplyDeletePlucky Sherry for landing in Montana
and staying.
Enjoy! I'm on vacation, too.
ReplyDeleteWill you be updating the Literary Bohemian site or publishing your poetry here? Or do I need to scroll back a bit farther? I'll just poke around.
ReplyDeleteI am having Sherry Blog withdrawal!
ReplyDeletehi kass-
ReplyDeletewell, montana is not for everyone. most of us prefer to share nothing with no one rather than share something with everyone. and if that makes sense to you, come on up!
hi annie-
looking forward to hearing how your vaca went for you.
hi marylinn-
i will check the literary bohemian site. i have been published in there twice: Issue 6 http://www.literarybohemian.com/index.php/poetry/poem/between-daisy-and-lulu-pass-by-sherry-okeefe/ and Issue 2 http://www.literarybohemian.com/index.php/poetry/poem/yellowtail-canyon/. thanks for checking them out!
hi rox-
i had so little internet and cell coverage while i was away. surprisingly, we had cell coverage only after reaching this remote old cabin, which requires driving (driving?) on a road (road?) that has 3 point switchbacks. am glad to be back and see you've done your farmer almanac research!
